Panchkula, June 25
The Congress party held a press conference in Panchkula on Thursday, during which District Congress President Sanjay Chauhan and Haryana Mahila Congress President Sudha Bhardwaj addressed media queries on student issues and public safety.
Speaking on Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s “Chhatron Ki Goonj” program held in Kota, Rajasthan, the leaders said the initiative highlighted the challenges students across the country face. They expressed concern over alleged NEET paper leaks, corruption in recruitment processes, and shrinking employment opportunities, stating that these issues have created an atmosphere of stress, uncertainty, and insecurity among students.
The Congress leaders said it was unfortunate that many students were being driven to extreme steps, including suicide, due to mounting pressure and lack of opportunities. They said this was not only a crisis for students but also a challenge for the country’s future.
They reiterated that the Congress party remains committed to raising the voice of students and youth and will continue to fight for reforms in education and employment. Ensuring a secure and promising future for young people, they said, remains a top priority for the party.
The leaders also expressed concern about the rising crime rate in Panchkula. Sanjay Chauhan alleged that the law and order situation in the district had deteriorated, saying incidents of firing in broad daylight were becoming increasingly common.
He said the District Congress Committee is committed to the safety and security of Panchkula residents and urged the state government to take immediate steps to curb criminal activities and ensure public safety across the district.
