Kullu Police destroy narcotics worth Rs 1.19 crore on International Day against drug abuse

Kullu, June 26

Marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Kullu Police destroyed narcotic substances worth over Rs 1.19 crore that had been seized in 53 criminal cases registered in Kullu and Manali. Superintendent of Police Madan Lal Kaushal, who was present during the destruction process, said the narcotics were disposed of after obtaining the necessary court orders. He stated that the seized contraband was linked to 41 cases registered at Kullu Police Station and 12 cases at Manali Police Station.
The destroyed substances included 6 grams of heroin, 46 kilograms of charas, 0.29 grams of ketamine, 8 grams of brown sugar, 17 grams of smack, 23 kilograms of cannabis seeds, and 1 gram of MDMA. The total market value of the destroyed narcotics was estimated at Rs 1,19,61,490.
SP Kaushal said Kullu Police is continuing its crackdown on drug trafficking through sustained legal action and arrests. He also appealed to residents to immediately inform the police if they come across anyone involved in the illegal drug trade, assuring that strict action would be taken against offenders.
