Panchkula Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Srishti Gupta has dismissed Special Police Officer (SPO) Jayveer Singh from service after a video allegedly showing him beating a youth in the Mankya village area went viral on social media.

The incident occurred at the Ramgarh police outpost, where Jayveer Singh was posted with the Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) team. The police department took immediate cognisance of the matter after the video surfaced online.

According to preliminary information, local residents reported a suspicious person roaming in the area. Following the information, a police team reached the spot and found the concerned individual allegedly in an intoxicated condition.

During the incident, SPO Jayveer Singh was accused of assaulting the person, and a video of the incident later spread on social media, leading to action by senior police officials.

After reviewing the matter, DCP Panchkula Srishti Gupta ordered the immediate dismissal of Jayveer Singh from service.

The DCP stated that there is no place in the police department for indiscipline, misconduct, or misuse of power. She emphasised that the primary responsibility of the police force is to ensure public safety, maintain law and order, and treat citizens with dignity and respect.

She further made it clear that strict action would be taken against any police personnel found in violation of the prescribed code of conduct.
