Vivek Joshi, a 1989-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, has been appointed Chief Secretary of Haryana, succeeding TVSN Prasad who retired on Thursday. The state government has issued an official order confirming Joshi’s new role, which includes overseeing general administration, human resources, personnel and training, parliamentary affairs, and vigilance, alongside his duties as secretary for plan coordination.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved Joshi’s return to Haryana from central deputation on October 26, following a state government request. Prior to this, Joshi held the position of Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training under the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensioners.
