Dharamshala, June 29

BJP MLA from Dharamshala, Sudhir Sharma, on Sunday criticized Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu over his recent visit to Bara Bhangal, alleging that the government was choosing sparsely populated areas to project fulfillment of its election guarantees.
Addressing the media, Sharma questioned the announcement of a monthly assistance of Rs 1,500 for eligible women in Bara Bhangal. He claimed the number of beneficiaries in the area was very small and alleged that the government was making such announcements to create the impression that it was delivering on its promises.
The BJP legislator further alleged that the Chief Minister was selecting regions with limited populations to showcase the implementation of the government’s guarantees. He said previous Chief Ministers had taken decisions keeping the entire state in mind, while accusing the present government of failing to fulfill its commitments across Himachal Pradesh.
Sharma also raised questions over the announcement to construct a road to Bara Bhangal. He claimed that the difficult geographical conditions in the area would make it impossible to complete the project with the proposed allocation of Rs 10 crore. According to him, large-scale rock-cutting would be required, which would require a substantially higher budget.
He further alleged that when funds were unavailable for several important development projects, announcing financial support for the proposed road appeared unrealistic. Sharma accused the state government of making announcements rather than focusing on actual development and claimed that such decisions were intended to mislead the public. No immediate response was available from the state government regarding the allegations made by the BJP MLA.
