Hoshiarpur , March 31
A sub-inspector of Punjab Police was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a tanker here on Monday, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Chatvinder Singh (55), a resident of Bharta Ganeshpur village, who was posted at Mahilpur police station.
According to police, Singh was on his way to Mahilpur on his motorcycle. At around 3 pm, when he reached near Adda Dansiwal on the Garhshankar-Hoshiarpur road, his motorcycle was hit by a tanker. He died on the spot, police said.
The body has been kept at the Civil Hospital in Garhshankar for post-mortem examination. Further investigation is underway.
