Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been diagnosed with leptospirosis, a bacterial infection, doctors confirmed on Saturday. Mann, who was admitted to Fortis Hospital Mohali with tropical fever symptoms, has responded well to antibiotics, with his vital signs remaining stable.
Dr. RK Jaswal, Director and Head of Cardiology at the hospital, in official statement said that Mann’s clinical parameters have shown significant improvement. “His vitals are completely stable, and he has responded well to treatment, particularly for elevated pulmonary artery pressure,” Jaswal said. Blood tests confirmed leptospirosis, and Mann is receiving appropriate antibiotic treatment. All clinical features and pathological tests have indicated satisfactory progress.
