Chandigarh, January 2
The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is prioritizing the timely execution of Smart City projects to improve civic amenities. Local Government Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh chaired a meeting in Chandigarh with officials from Municipal Corporations Ludhiana and Jalandhar to review the progress of ongoing projects under the Smart City Mission.
During the meeting, Dr. Singh assessed reports on the current status of funds and project implementation, emphasizing the need for quality and timely completion. He directed officials to expedite the tendering process for new projects and ensure proper utilization of allocated funds within specified timelines.
Highlighting the importance of accountability, Dr. Singh warned against negligence in project execution, stating that strict action would be taken against any lapses. He also reiterated the government’s vision of transforming Punjab into a vibrant and prosperous state, urging officials to work with integrity and dedication.
Key attendees included Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Local Government Tejveer Singh, CEO of PMIDC Deepti Uppal, and senior officials from Ludhiana and Jalandhar’s Smart City projects.
