Patiala, May 15
A private bus travelling from Jaipur to Chandigarh met with a tragic accident near Ghagga town on the Patran road close to Samana in Patiala district on Friday, leaving one person dead and around a dozen passengers injured. The bus was carrying passengers mainly from Rajasthan, including Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, and Jaipur districts. Most of them were travelling towards Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Baddi for work and personal commitments when the accident occurred.
According to preliminary information, the bus lost control while negotiating a sharp turn and overturned suddenly. The impact of the accident left several passengers trapped and injured inside the vehicle.
Local residents and emergency responders rushed to the scene and helped shift the injured to the Samana Government Civil Hospital for immediate medical treatment. Hospital authorities confirmed that all injured passengers are currently under observation and receiving necessary care.
Police have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident, including possible overspeeding or mechanical failure. Further details are awaited as authorities continue their inquiry.
