Shimla, April 8
A strong Western Disturbance has affected Himachal Pradesh, bringing fresh snowfall to high-altitude areas such as the Atal Tunnel Rohtang, Manali, and Kufri. Middle and lower elevations are experiencing continuous rainfall, leading to lower temperatures and a return of winter conditions. The Meteorological Centre Shimla has issued an orange alert for April 8, warning of possible hailstorms, lightning, and strong winds in Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla districts.
This weather pattern is expected to be brief, with clearer skies forecast later in the week. Moderate rain and snow will continue through the evening, but from April 9 to April 13, most areas should see stable conditions, with only isolated light showers. Residents and travelers are advised to remain cautious until the orange alert is lifted and conditions improve.
