Panchkula, May 27

A fake bail racket operating through forged documents and fake identities has been exposed in Panchkula, leading to the arrest of three accused for allegedly misleading courts and manipulating judicial proceedings. Police said the accused were part of a network that arranged bail across multiple districts using fake identity documents and forged surety documents.

According to officials, suspicion arose during a bail hearing at a Panchkula court after serious discrepancies were found in the documents submitted by a surety. During verification, it was discovered that the individual had acted as a guarantor in more than 16 cases and had allegedly provided misleading information before the court. Aadhaar cards and other records were also found suspicious, prompting the court to direct Sector 7 Police Station to register a case and commence an investigation.

The probe is being conducted by ASI Nirmal Singh posted at Sector 1 police post. During the investigation, police arrested Rajendra Singh and a woman identified as Krishna, both residents of Karnal, along with Ashish Kumar from Panchkula on May 25. During questioning, police found that the accused were allegedly preparing forged surety documents and facilitating bail for people across different districts.

Police said raids and further action are underway to recover fake seals from Karnal, identify other members linked to the network, and trace additional cases connected to the racket. DCP Panchkula Srishti Gupta said the investigation is not limited to fake bail documents alone but also involves allegations of forged identities, fake records, and criminal conspiracy. Rajendra Singh and Krishna were remanded to police custody for two days, while Ashish Kumar was remanded to judicial custody. Further investigation is underway.
