Panchkula, June 8
Computer Lab Attendants employed in government schools across Haryana gathered in large numbers at the protest site in Sector-5, Panchkula, on Monday, raising slogans against the state government over their pending demands for employment security, salary revision, and service benefits.
The protesting employees stated that they have been serving in government schools for nearly 15 years but continue to work on what they described as extremely low salaries. They alleged that issues concerning employment protection, salary enhancement, and service security have remained unresolved for a prolonged period.
According to the protesters, the Haryana government had initiated a process to upload employee data to the Employment Security Portal. However, due to technical difficulties and the non-availability of OTP verification, the data of many employees could not be uploaded successfully.
The employees claimed that as a result, thousands of eligible workers are being deprived of the benefits provided under employment security laws.
The protesters demanded that all eligible employees’ data be uploaded to the portal immediately. They also called for their monthly salaries to be increased to ₹35,000 until employment security is formally ensured.
In addition, the employees demanded the implementation of technical pay scales based on their educational qualifications and the nature of their work.
During the demonstration, the employees urged the government to resolve their issues at the earliest and warned that the agitation would be intensified if prompt action was not taken.
The protesters further stated that, despite their contributions to strengthening the education system for several years, their concerns continue to be ignored.
