Panchkula, April 30
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against senior Congress leader and Haryana CLP leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda in connection with the Panchkula industrial plot allotment case, alleging fraud and criminal conspiracy.
In a significant development, the Central Bureau of Investigation has named Bhupinder Singh Hooda as the main conspirator in its chargesheet related to alleged irregularities in the allotment of industrial plots in Panchkula.
According to the agency, a plot estimated to be worth ₹30 crore was allegedly allotted at a substantially lower price of ₹7 crore, resulting in a significant financial loss. The CBI further claimed that a majority of the beneficiaries were known associates of Hooda.
The chargesheet also names seven other accused, including a former IAS officer, for their alleged roles in facilitating the irregular allotments. The case pertains to alleged manipulation and procedural violations in the allocation process.
Responding to the development, the defence counsel said that they have not yet received any summons from the court in connection with the chargesheet. “We will file our response once the court issues a summons,” the counsel said.
