Action director Craig Macrae has praised actors Alia Bhatt and Sharvari for their commitment and extensive preparation for Yash Raj Films’ upcoming spy thriller Alpha, saying their dedication sets them apart in a physically demanding action film. Macrae, who has worked on international productions including Mad Max: Fury Road and Resident Evil, said both actors invested significant time in training and character development ahead of the film’s release.
Speaking about Alia Bhatt, Macrae said her work ethic and commitment to the project left a strong impression on him during production. According to him, the actor devoted considerable effort to preparing for her role in Alpha, which is the next installment in the YRF Spy Universe.
“What sets Alia Bhatt apart from those other female stars is that I think her work ethic is absolutely incredible. She’s really put in a lot of time and a lot of effort into preparing for Alpha. She was really dedicated to the movie, and I think that’s going to be the thing that really makes a huge difference in her on-screen presence,” Macrae said.
He added that Bhatt’s preparation extended beyond action sequences and stunt work, noting that she also focused on developing her character.
“She’s one of those people who you can really feel is willing to put in the amount of work that is required and then some, to go above and beyond what’s needed for the film,” he said.
Macrae also commended Sharvari for her efforts in preparing for the film’s action-intensive scenes. He said both actors underwent extensive training in skills, physical conditioning, and stunt preparation to meet the demands of their roles.
“Alia and Sharvari were absolutely incredible for this movie. The preparation that they put into it, the work that they put into preparing for this movie physically and with their skills training and stunt training, was absolutely incredible. It’s very rare to find people who are willing to put in the amount of time and effort that Alia and Sharvari put into this movie,” he said.
Directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Yash Raj Films, Alpha also stars Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on July 3.
With growing anticipation around the project, Macrae’s remarks highlight the level of preparation undertaken by the film’s lead actors as Alpha gears up to expand the YRF Spy Universe on the big screen.
