Air India has completed precautionary checks on the locking mechanism of the Fuel Control Switch (FCS) across all Boeing 787 and Boeing 737 aircraft in its fleet, ensuring full compliance with safety protocols, according to the Air India statement released on Tuesday. The Boeing 737s are operated by Air India Express, the budget airline subsidiary of Air India. With these inspections completed, both carriers have adhered to the guidelines issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on July 14, 2025.
No faults were detected in the locking mechanism during the checks. Air India had initiated these voluntary inspections on July 12 and concluded them within the DGCA’s specified timeframe. The results have been duly reported to the regulator. Passenger and crew safety remains a top priority for Air India.
