Panchkula, June 27

The district administration launched a special anti-encroachment drive in the Kalka and Pinjore areas, removing illegal roadside encroachments as part of an ongoing effort to improve traffic flow and reclaim public spaces. The operation was carried out under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner and in the presence of the Duty Magistrate, Amar Singh, and the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of the Public Health Engineering Department. Teams from multiple government departments jointly participated in the enforcement drive. Providing details of the operation, Duty Magistrate Amar Singh said the campaign was undertaken following the Deputy Commissioner’s instructions. During the drive, illegal encroachments made by shopkeepers along the roadside were removed from Kali Mata Temple in Kalka to Mallaha Moud in Pinjore.

The joint team cleared goods placed on the roadside, temporary structures, and other unauthorized occupations that had obstructed the route, restoring the road for public use.

Amar Singh said the primary objective of the campaign was to make the road free of encroachments and ensure smooth traffic flow. He noted that long-standing roadside encroachments had been affecting vehicle movement, causing inconvenience to commuters and pedestrians.

The administration stated that similar action against illegal encroachments on public spaces would continue. It also appealed to shopkeepers and residents not to occupy roads or government land unlawfully and to cooperate with the authorities to maintain smooth traffic flow and prevent inconvenience to the public.
