Fatehmajri, June 27
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday laid the foundation stone of a modern sports stadium worth ₹12 crore at Fatehmajri village in Samana constituency of Patiala district.
Addressing the gathering, Mann said the village has provided 9 acres of land for the project, which will be developed into a state-of-the-art sports facility. He said the stadium would provide better opportunities for young people and help them avoid drug abuse by encouraging participation in sports.
The Chief Minister also referred to the road accidents that took place on the Patiala-Samana road last year, in which seven children from Samana city lost their lives. He said the road had gained the reputation of being a “bloody road” due to repeated accidents and announced that it would soon be converted into a four-lane road.
Speaking about posters being put up against him at various gurdwaras, Mann said that people continue to have faith in him. He alleged that the Shiromani Akali Dal was attempting to defame his government by using religious issues, adding that people were able to see such attempts.
Mann further claimed that people were expressing confidence in the Aam Aadmi Party and said they would form the government again in Punjab in 2027.
“People have faith in me, and attempts to defame us through such tactics are visible to everyone,” Mann said.
