Chandigarh, May 28
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced new state leadership appointments for Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Tripura as part of an organisational reshuffle.
Kewal Singh Dhillon was named the new president of the BJP’s Punjab unit, while Archana Gupta was appointed chief of the party’s Haryana unit on Thursday.
The appointments were approved by BJP national president Nitin Nabin and announced through separate notifications issued by the party’s national general secretary Arun Singh.
Union minister Harsh Malhotra was appointed president of the BJP’s Delhi unit, replacing Virendra Sachdeva, who had been serving in the role until now.
In Tripura, BJP MLA Abhishek Debroy was named the party’s new state president.
“All these appointments come into immediate effect,” Arun Singh said in the notification.
The changes come as the BJP continues to strengthen its organisational structure ahead of upcoming elections in several states.
