Former cricketer Yograj Singh may face increased legal trouble over alleged objectionable remarks about women made during a discussion related to a web series. After the Punjab State Women Commission took cognizance of the matter, the Haryana State Women Commission is also examining the case for possible action.
Commission Chairperson Renu Bhatia said legal procedures are being reviewed before taking further steps in the matter. She also remarked that Yograj Singh’s statements had negatively impacted the image of his son, former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh.
Earlier, the Punjab State Women Commission had also taken notice of the controversy, while Chandigarh Police registered a case against Yograj Singh. He has reportedly approached a Chandigarh district court seeking anticipatory bail in the matter.
