Three inmates allegedly escaped from Patiala Central Jail late at night after scaling a boundary wall, according to jail sources.
Sources said all three inmates were later re-arrested by the police after a brief search operation. The escaped inmates were reportedly lodged in the same barrack inside the jail.
No official statement has been issued on the matter so far. Officials were unavailable for comment, and repeated attempts to contact authorities reportedly went unanswered. Further details regarding the escape and re-arrest are awaited.
