Patiala, April 9
Panic spread across Patiala after several major schools in the city received bomb threat emails. Following the threats, the police and the district administration immediately became active and launched search operations in the schools. The schools that received the threat emails include YPS Patiala, Delhi Public School, Shivalik School, Mount Litera School, and nearly 12 others. Security has been tightened at these schools, and students were sent home early as a precautionary measure.
A message sent by YPS School to parents has also surfaced, stating that children were being sent home early after the bomb threat was received. Parents were requested to cooperate with school staff and follow the instructions given at the school gates.
Patiala SP City Palwinder Singh Cheema said that police received information from the schools in the morning regarding the threat emails. Soon after, police teams reached the schools and launched search operations. He said that search operations were still underway at all the schools and that the links in the threat emails were also being verified.
Among the schools that received the threat emails is the well-known YPS School of Punjab.
