Chandigarh, November 6
Former President Donald Trump has defeated Vice President Kamala Harris, securing a second term in the White House, according to the US based news outlet Fox News Decision Desk. This victory makes Trump the first US President to serve two nonconsecutive terms since Grover Cleveland in 1892, and only the second in US history.
Trump, who first won the presidency in 2016 by defeating former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, rose to prominence with his “Make America Great Again” campaign. After losing the 2020 election to President Joe Biden amid the global coronavirus pandemic, Trump returned to the political spotlight, campaigning for nearly two years under the slogan “Make America Great Once Again.” His successful bid in 2024 marks a remarkable political comeback.
