Lahaul-Spiti , May 27
In a major boost to tourism and public transport connectivity in Himachal Pradesh’s Lahaul Valley, the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) will commence a direct Volvo bus service between Delhi and Jispa from May 28, Deputy Commissioner of Lahaul-Spiti Kiran Bhadana said on Wednesday.
The new service, introduced through the continuous efforts of the district administration, aims to provide comfortable, convenient travel facilities for tourists, local residents, and government employees traveling to and from the remote tribal district. Deputy Commissioner Kiran Bhadana said the administration had been working since last year to extend Volvo connectivity to the tourist destinations of Lahaul Valley. Until now, Volvo bus services from Delhi were available only up to Manali.
“With the launch of this service, tourists from Delhi will now be able to travel directly to Jispa while enjoying the scenic route through the Atal Tunnel, Sissu, and Keylong,” she said.
The administration believes the service will significantly improve accessibility to the region and further strengthen tourism activities in Lahaul-Spiti, especially during the summer tourist season.
