Chandigarh, July 24
In a heartbreaking incident, a third-year MBBS student at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, Chandigarh, ended her life on Monday night. She was found hanging in her hostel room, prompting her flatmates to alert the chief warden and rush her to the emergency ward. Despite extensive efforts by the medical team, she could not be revived.
A suicide note was discovered in the student’s room and has been taken into custody by the police for investigation. “It is a very unfortunate incident. Her roommates alerted the chief warden immediately. We have handed over the letter to the police for investigation. Despite our best efforts, we could not save the student,” said Director Principal AK Attri expressed his sorrow, according to The Hindustan Times.
