India’s Tanvi Patri has triumphed in the Under-15 girls’ singles at the Badminton Asia U-17 and U-15 Junior Championships, defeating Vietnam’s Thi Thu Huyen Nguyen in straight games during the final held in Chengdu, China. “At just 13 years old, the top-seeded Patri demonstrated remarkable skill and composure, concluding the match in 34 minutes with a 22-20, 21-11 victory over her second-seeded rival,” reported The Tribune India.
“In the past six months, she has excelled in U-17 tournaments and defeated several senior players, including current national championship finalist Tanvi Sharma. With continued development and strength improvement, she could be a formidable contender for the 2028 or 2032 Olympics,” said Vimal Kumar, director of the Padukone Academy.
