Dharamshala, June 11
BJP MLA from Dharamshala, Sudhir Sharma, has criticized Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu following the government’s decision to withdraw its notification on deferring a portion of the salaries of ministers, MLAs and government officials.
Reacting to the development, Sharma alleged that the decision-making process in the state has become unstable and inconsistent. He claimed that the Chief Minister often takes decisions in the morning and changes them by the evening without proper consultation or discussion.
Sharma further alleged that major decisions are being made without considering their long-term consequences. He also remarked that the situation in the state has reached a point where even ministers and MLAs are reportedly not responding to phone calls.
Commenting on the expulsion of Neeraj Bharti, Sharma described it as an internal matter of the Congress party, stating that it is up to the party leadership to decide who remains within the organization. However, he added that the circumstances currently unfolding in the state are unprecedented and unlike anything witnessed before.
The BJP MLA also targeted the government over the delay in holding elections to the posts of Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson in Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis. He said the elections must be held within 30 days and accused the government of attempting to exert pressure on elected representatives.
Sharma claimed that such efforts would not yield results and suggested that the government was acting out of frustration. He emphasized that the mandate given by the people should be respected and implemented without delay.
