A statue of former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh will be unveiled on Sunday at the historic Ridge in Shimla. The event will be attended by several senior Congress leaders, with Sonia Gandhi as the chief guest. Sonia Gandhi arrived in Shimla on Sunday evening and will lead the unveiling ceremony. Among those expected to attend are Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Sachin Pilot, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, state Congress in-charge Rajni Patil and party’s state president Pratibha Singh.
A large number of party workers, senior leaders and members of the public are expected to gather for the ceremony. Authorities have tightened security in and around the Ridge, with police deployed at key locations to manage the crowd.
