Jammu, March 18
The General Officer Commanding (GOC), Rising Star Corps, Lieutenant General Rajan Sharawat on Wednesday reviewed operational preparedness of the troops in Jammu and Kashmir’s Machhedi sector of Kathua district.
The Bani-Macchedi mountainous belt in Kathua district has witnessed several attacks and encounters in the last two years. It is considered an infiltration route to Doda, Kishtwar and Udhampur districts from the International Border (IB).
“GOC Rising Star Corps reviewed operational preparedness of troops in Bani-Machhedi sector (Kathua district),” defence PRO, Jammu, said on X.
The GoC lauded their battle readiness, high morale and steadfast commitment to mission success under all conditions.
To prevent infiltration, the Army deployed several companies in the high-altitude Bani-Macchedi area last year.
