Chandigarh, January 3
The Amritsar Commissionerate Police has made a significant breakthrough by busting a cross-border drug and weapon network. Twelve individuals, including key associate Manjeet Singh, also known as Bhola, were arrested in connection with the operation. Singh is reportedly in contact with Pakistan-based smugglers, said DGP Gaurav Yadav. The police recovered 2.192 kilograms of heroin, three sophisticated pistols, including two automatics, ₹2.6 lakh in drug money, and a Fortuner car. An FIR has been filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Chheharta Police Station.
Further investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of the criminal network. Punjab Police remains committed to eradicating organized crime and ensuring peace and security in the state.
