In a major breakthrough against organized crime, Punjab Police, in a coordinated operation with Uttar Pradesh Police, successfully apprehended two notorious shooters in Lucknow, both wanted in connection with high-profile murders in Punjab. Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav confirmed the arrests on Tuesday , identifying the suspects as Bikramjit, also known as Vicky, and Punjab Singh. Bikramjit is accused of involvement in the murder of Gurpreet Singh, alias Gopi Mahal, which occurred in Tarn Taran in March 2024. Punjab Singh is the primary suspect in a triple murder case that took place in Ferozepur in September 2024. Both individuals have extensive criminal backgrounds with multiple serious offenses recorded against them, and they were reportedly operating under the instructions of foreign-based gangsters. This joint effort underscores the Punjab Police’s commitment to dismantling organized criminal networks within the state.
