Chandigarh, October 28
Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav on Tuesday said that the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police recovered six additional pistols (.32 bore) from three accused — Mankaran Singh Deol, Simranjit Singh and Jaiveer Singh — as part of an ongoing investigation into an organised arms supply network. The latest recovery brings the total number of pistols seized in the case to eight, after two had earlier been confiscated.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused are close associates of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang and received the weapon consignment from Madhya Pradesh. Police said the suspects were involved in supplying firearms to criminal groups. An FIR has been registered at Rama Mandi police station, and further investigations are under way to trace the wider network, including both forward and backward linkages.
