Chandigarh, October 24
A Mohali court has ordered tech giants Facebook and Google to remove AI-generated fake videos targeting Bhagwant Mann within 24 hours. The court warned that failure to comply would lead to legal action against the platforms. The videos, allegedly created to damage the image of the Punjab Chief Minister, have been widely circulated on social media.
Following the court directive, Punjab’s cyber crime police wrote separately to Facebook and Instagram, attaching the FIR and urging immediate removal of the content.
