Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra filed her nomination papers on Wednesday for the Lok Sabha by-election in Kerala’s Wayanad constituency. After a large-scale roadshow in Kalpetta, Priyanka, accompanied by her brother and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and her mother Sonia Gandhi, submitted her papers to District Collector and Returning Officer D R Meghashree.
“Priyanka has always been someone who would sacrifice anything for her family and friends. This quality will make her an exceptional MP for Wayanad,” said Rahul Gandhi after Priyanka filed nomination papers. “To her, the people of Wayanad are family. I ask you to support her as you have supported me. I will always stand by Wayanad as your unofficial MP,” he added.
