Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow over the passing of SM Krishna, the former Chief Minister of Karnataka, describing him as a “remarkable leader” who dedicated himself to the welfare of others.
In a post on X, Modi praised Krishna’s contributions, particularly highlighting his focus on infrastructural development during his tenure as Karnataka’s Chief Minister. “Shri SM Krishna Ji was admired by people from all walks of life. He always worked tirelessly to improve the lives of others. His tenure as Chief Minister, especially his emphasis on infrastructure, will be fondly remembered,” Modi wrote.
The Prime Minister also remembered Krishna as a “prolific reader and thinker,” noting their numerous interactions over the years. Modi concluded his tribute by offering condolences to Krishna’s family and admirers, saying, “I am deeply saddened by his passing. Om Shanti.”
