New Delhi, March 23
President Droupadi Murmu on Monday asked all stakeholders to work together with collective resolve to end tuberculosis once and for all.
In a message, she said tuberculosis (TB) continues to pose a significant public health challenge, affecting millions of lives across the world.
However, TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan has made remarkable progress in expanding early diagnosis, ensuring free treatment, strengthening nutritional support and improving patient care, Murmu said on the eve of World Tuberculosis Day.
This progress underscores our shared determination and the strength of the national TB elimination programme, she said.
“I urge all stakeholders to work together with collective resolve to end tuberculosis once and for all,” the President said.
Murmu said she is happy to know that World Tuberculosis Day is being celebrated on March 24, to raise awareness about the global challenge posed by TB.
