Dharamshala, June 15
Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal arrived at Kangra Airport on Monday and was welcomed by BJP MLA Sudhir Sharma, Pawan Kajal and other party leaders.
Addressing reporters after his arrival, Meghwal said the programme scheduled in Dharamshala was a government initiative aimed at ensuring justice reaches every citizen of the country. He stated that discussions would focus on various justice-related schemes launched by the Government of India and their impact on the public.
The minister said Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla would also attend the event.
Highlighting the Centre’s work over the past 12 years, Meghwal said several government schemes had shown a visible positive impact at the grassroots level. He added that the outreach and implementation of these schemes would be discussed in detail during the Dharamshala programme.
Responding to questions on the anti-defection law, the Union Minister said a faction had submitted a merger letter to the Speaker with a regional party. He maintained that the final decision in the matter lies with the Speaker.
“The concerned members have already stated that they wish to sit separately and not with the Congress,” Meghwal said.
The minister further asserted that the Central Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was handling every issue with sensitivity while keeping public welfare as the top priority.
“Whatever the issue may be, the Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working with sensitivity on every matter and decisions are being taken keeping public interest paramount,” Meghwal said.
