As the world eagerly awaits the safe return of astronaut Sunita Williams, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent her a letter expressing the nation’s pride and support. “Even though you are thousands of miles away, you remain close to our hearts,” Modi wrote in the message, which was delivered through former astronaut Mike Massimino.
During a recent meeting with Massimino, Modi requested that the letter, written on behalf of the Indian people, be conveyed to Williams. The Prime Minister wished her strength and a safe return, reaffirming India’s deep bond with its “illustrious daughter.”
Williams, touched by the gesture, expressed her gratitude to Modi and the Indian people, according to Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh.
