Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the Vande Bharat Express between Katra and Srinagar on April 19. He will also visit the world’s highest Chenab rail bridge and address a public rally in Katra on the same day.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, and J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah are likely to attend the event, sources said.
Initially, the train will run between Katra, Srinagar/Baramulla. From August, after expansion work at Jammu Railway Station is completed, it is expected to operate between Jammu and Srinagar/Baramulla.
