Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid homage to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji on the occasion of his sacred Parkash Purab, describing the Sikh Guru as an enduring symbol of courage, compassion and sacrifice. In a message shared on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said Guru Gobind Singh’s life and teachings continue to inspire people to uphold truth, justice and righteousness, while protecting human dignity.
“His vision guides generations towards service and selfless duty,” Modi said. Along with the message, the Prime Minister shared photographs from his visit earlier this year to Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib, one of Sikhism’s five Takhts and the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh. He said he had also paid darshan of the Holy Jore Sahib associated with Guru Gobind Singh and Mata Sahib Kaur during the visit. The Parkash Utsav marks the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and is observed with prayers and commemorative events by Sikh communities in India and across the world.
