Nirmal Singh Bhangoo, the mastermind behind the Pearls Group scam, passed away in Delhi on Sunday night. Bhangoo, who was the chairman of the Pearls Group of companies, was the primary accused in a Rs 45,000 crore fraud that defrauded numerous investors, as reported by the news outlet The Tribune.
In January 2016, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Bhangoo, and he had since been held in Tihar Jail. He was reportedly taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital in Delhi, where his death was recorded at 7:50 pm
