Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, on Friday reaffirmed the continued progress of Operation Sindoor, stressing that the Indian armed forces must maintain a state of high readiness round-the-clock, every day of the year. Speaking at a defence seminar in Delhi, General Chauhan said, “Our preparedness level has to be very high — 24×7, 365 days.” He reiterated that Operation Sindoor, an ongoing military initiative, is still underway, echoing earlier remarks made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the operation is not yet complete.
General Chauhan also underscored the need for the modern soldier to be equipped not only with combat skills but also with deep knowledge. “A warrior today must understand both shastra (warfare) and shaastra (knowledge),” he said.
