Nine Indian nationals were killed in a road accident near Jizan, in western Saudi Arabia, the Indian Consulate in Jeddah confirmed on Monday. In an official statement, the consulate expressed condolences and assured full support to the victims’ families. “We deeply mourn the tragic loss… and are in touch with local authorities and relatives,” the consulate said, adding that a helpline has been set up for assistance.
Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar expressed grief over the incident, stating he had spoken to the Consul General in Jeddah, who is coordinating aid for the affected families.
