Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Donald Trump on his inauguration as the 47th president of the United States, expressing hope for strengthened ties between the two nations.
“Congratulations my dear friend President @realDonaldTrump on your historic inauguration as the 47th President of the United States!” Modi wrote on X. “I look forward to working closely together once again, to benefit both our countries, and to shape a better future for the world. Best wishes for a successful term ahead!” he said.
Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States on Monday, taking the oath of office at his second inauguration and pledging to uphold the U.S. Constitution.
Chief Justice John Roberts of the Supreme Court administered the oath to Trump during a ceremony held in the Capitol rotunda, attended by lawmakers, dignitaries, and Trump’s family. The event was moved indoors due to adverse weather conditions.
