Manali, June 10
Manali is witnessing a massive influx of tourists as soaring temperatures across the plains push travelers towards the cooler climate of the Himalayan region. The growing number of visitors has led to heavy traffic congestion at several locations, while hotels in the popular hill station are reporting near full occupancy.
Tourism activity has picked up significantly in recent days, with thousands of visitors arriving from across the country to escape the summer heat. Long queues of vehicles have become a common sight on roads leading to and within Manali, resulting in traffic jams at multiple points.
Despite the congestion, tourists are making the most of their visit by enjoying adventure activities such as river rafting in the chilly waters of the Beas River. Many visitors are also traveling to the renowned Rohtang Pass and Baralacha Pass, where snow can still be seen even during June.
Tourists said the weather in Manali offers much needed relief from the intense heat prevailing in the plains. They expressed excitement about experiencing cool temperatures and witnessing snow during the summer.
Visitors acknowledged that the rising tourist footfall has created traffic challenges in some areas. However, many said the pleasant weather, scenic landscapes, and peaceful atmosphere make the journey worthwhile.
With the summer holiday season underway, tourism stakeholders expect the rush to continue in the coming weeks, boosting local businesses and the hospitality sector across the region.
