President of Maldive, Mohamed Muizzu will be on an official visit to India “very soon” said the Chief Spokesperson of Maldives Heena Waleed on Tuesday. She announced his visit in a press conference at the President’s office on Tuesday afternoon, stated the Sun Online news portal. This announcement was made on a day when two junior ministers, suspended in January for derogatory comments against Prime Minister Narender Modi – resigned from the government yesterday. The exact date of the visit is yet to be finalised, the two sides are discussing a date of convenience to the leaders of both countries, the Sun Online news portal reported.
“President is scheduled to make a visit to India very soon. As you are aware, such trips are scheduled for a time of maximum convenience to leaders of the two countries. Discussions regarding this are in progress,” the portal stated quoting Waleed.
