Chandigarh, October 1
West Bengal’s junior doctors resumed their protest on Tuesday, accusing the
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) of dragging its feet in the investigation
of the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital rape-murder case and failure of
Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee of fulfilling the promises made to the students. In a statement, the West Bengal Junior
Doctors’ Front expressed their frustration, stating they are “disappointed
and angered by this protracted judicial process,” the news outlet The
Hindustan reported.
The doctors had previously called off their weeks-long strike on September
19, following extensive meetings with Bengal Chief Minister. However, they
claim the state government has yet to fulfill its promises.
