In a significant move for entertainment industry, Adar Poonawalla’s Serene Productions announced a binding agreement to invest INR 1,000 crore in Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Dharmatic Entertainment. The deal gives Serene Productions a 50% stake in Dharma, with Karan Johar retaining the remaining 50% ownership.
Karan Johar will continue to lead the company’s creative vision as Executive Chairman, while Apoorva Mehta will serve as CEO, focusing on the company’s strategic direction and operational excellence. The partnership aims to leverage the growing digital landscape, combining Dharma’s storytelling legacy with Poonawalla’s strategic insight. The collaboration seeks to push the boundaries of content creation and distribution, targeting a global audience.
