In a major development, the Punjab government has appointed KAP Sinha as the new Chief Secretary, replacing Anurag Verma. Sinha, a 1992-batch Punjab cadre officer, previously held the position of Special Chief Secretary in the Department of Revenue, Agriculture, and Water Conservation. Verma, the outgoing Chief Secretary, has been reassigned as Additional Chief Secretary, overseeing Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Horticulture, and Soil and Water Conservation.
