Malvinder Singh Kang, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP from Punjab, has submitted a notice in the Lok Sabha, urging an adjournment of the House’s proceedings to address urgent issues faced by farmers. In a letter to the Secretary-General of the Lok Sabha, Kang underscored the critical challenges confronting the farming community, calling them the “backbone of the nation.” He highlighted the deteriorating condition of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, 70, who has been on a hunger strike for 22 days. Kang described Dallewal’s condition as “critical,” citing doctors’ reports.
“Given the widespread distress among farmers, I urge you to adjourn all other business of the House today to discuss these immediate and pressing issues,” Kang wrote in his plea to the Secretary-General.
The AAP MP’s call for debate comes amid ongoing farmer protests over various unresolved grievances, adding urgency to his demand for parliamentary discussion.
