External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar held a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, where he expressed gratitude for France’s firm stance against terrorism and conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In a social media post following the meeting, Jaishankar said he was “honoured” to call on the French President and highlighted the mutual trust and ambition characterising the India-France strategic partnership.
“Our discussions reflected the trust, comfort and ambition of our Strategic Partnership,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter), adding that he appreciated France’s “strong message of support in the fight against terrorism”.
